Joining and Voting

  1. Have your barkada picture taken at the Pepsi ‘Kada Can booth or upload them on www.pepsiworld.com.ph. All barkadas must have 3-6 members. Submission of photos is from September 26 to December 19, 2008 only.
  2. Vote for your favorite barkada online by registering on the site or via mobile by texting PEPSI VOTE to 2861. Voting period is from October 1, 2008 to January 20, 2009 only.   3. All uploaded photos will undergo screening by Pepsi and upon approval, will appear on the website after 3-4 days. View the Upload page for more information.

Prizes

  1. The top 5 barkadas with the highest number of votes will get their pictures printed on the limited edition Pepsi can.
  2. The barkada with the highest number of total votes will be declared “The People’s Choice Barkada” and will win an all expense paid trip to Boracay.
  3. Announcement of the official top 5 barkadas will be made on or before February 1, 2009 through the website or other promotional efforts.
  4. Three (3) online voters and three (3) mobile voters will win a digital camera from the electronic raffle draw to be held on or before January 26, 2009.

Reminders

  1. Participants may only win once. If a participant is part of the top 5 barkadas, s/he can no longer qualify for the electronic raffle.
  2. Only registered and validated voters are qualified to join the raffle, for both online and mobile.
  3. Employees of Pepsi, its partners and distributors, its advertising agencies, suppliers and relatives up to the 2nd degree of consanguinity or affinity and/or members of their households (i.e., those sharing their home addresses) may join but CANNOT WIN the contest.

Join through the booth

  1. Go to a Pepsi ‘Kada Can photo booth with your barkada. Each barkada must have 3 to 6 members. (See booth schedule for details.)
  2. Each member of the group must register a barkada name and present an unopened Pepsi product at the booth.
  3. Take a picture! Don’t forget to get your printouts.
  4. Barkada members must choose 1 group and 1 individual shot to be uploaded on the site and entered in the contest. Chosen pictures may not be changed.
  5. Log on to www.pepsiworld.com.ph to check out and vote for your barkada pictures.
  6. Tell your friends to vote for you online or through text. The barkada with the most vote wins!

Join online

  1. Take a picture with your barkada. Each barkada must have 3 to 6 members. Click here to view the requirements for Pepsi ‘Kada Can upload pictures.
  2. Go to the Upload page on www.pepsiworld.com.ph
  3. Register a barkada name (alphanumeric maximum of 30 characters) together with each friend’s name, address, age, gender, mobile and email addresses.
  4. Start uploading your pictures and press submit when you’re done. Entries must not be sent more than once.
  5. Online submission is from September 26 to December 19, 2008 only.

    • Participants who submit invalid entries will receive an email notifying them that they have not complied with the requirements and must submit again to qualify for contest.
    • If the registered barkada name has already been taken, an alphanumeric number will be placed at the end of the registered barkada name to differentiate them from the others. Registration of barkada names are on a first come, first served basis.
    • Pepsi may not be held liable for lost or damaged photos submitted through the website.

  1. Log-on to www.pepsiworld.com.ph/pepsikadacan/ to view the pictures and vote for your favorite barkada.
  2. To register, type in your valid email address, name, age, gender and contact number.
  3. Voters will receive verification through email and should click the link for validation.
  4. Maximum number of votes is 5 times per day, per valid email address.

Vote via text:

  1. To begin, register by texting PEPSI REG name/age/gender/address to 2861. Example: PEPSI REG Vim Pelagio /25/F/8 Quezon's Place St., BF Pque.
  2. You will receive an SMS confirmation message if your registration attempt is successful.
  3. You can register several mobile numbers under the same name.
  4. To vote, text PEPSI VOTE to 2861. Example: PEPSI VOTE ABC1234
  5. You can vote as many times as you want. Every text is P2.50.

Three (3) mobile and three (3) online lucky voters will get the chance to win a digital camera in the raffle draw. To qualify for the raffle, voters must register and validate their votes. 1 vote = 1 entry.

Prizes

  1. Prizes:

    • Picture on the Pepsi Limited Edition Can – Five (5) Barkadas will have their solo photos printed on the Pepsi can

      • Release of the limited edition Pepsi can will be announced on or before August 2009.
    • One (1) Trip to Boracay Package (3 Days / 2 Nights) for the People’s Choice Barkada of 3-6 friends
    • Travel Package (inclusive of airfare, accommodations and pocket money): approximately Php 25,000.00 per person
    • Travel is valid for 6 months after the formal announcement of winners.
    • The winning Barkada shall pay for tips, transfer fees (other than specified), excess baggage fees, additional hotel charges (extra nights, extra beds, meals, etc), laundry, telephone calls, travel insurance and other personal expenses. Airline and hotel selection are based on availability and subject to discretion of Pepsi. Travel restrictions may apply.
    • The winning Barkada should book and confirm their trip with Pepsi within the 6-month travel period after the formal announcement of winners. After the 6th month, the trip prize will be considered un-claimed and forfeited in favor of Pepsi with BFAD approval.
    • Pepsi shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever that the winner and his/her companion may suffer (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss, personal injury) as a result of the trip. The winners shall sign a release, quitclaim and waiver absolving Pepsi from any liability.
    • Six (6) Sony Cybershot Digital Cameras worth Php 17,000 to the 6 winning voters (3 online voters and 3 mobile voters)
  2. The prizes are non-transferable and not convertible to cash.
  3. Prizes exceeding Ten Thousand Pesos (P10,000.00) shall be subject to 20% prize taxes, which shall be shouldered by Pepsi.
  4. The value of the prize is accurate as at the commencement of this promotion. Pepsi accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize after that date. Prizes are subject to availability.
  5. Should the prize not be available for any reason, Pepsi reserves the right to substitute it, in discretion, with another item of equal or higher value.

How to determine the winners:

  1. Mobile and online votes will be combined at the end of the promo to determine the winners.
  2. Top 5 Barkadas with the highest number of votes (both online and mobile) will have their photos printed on the limited edition of Pepsi can.
  3. The Barkada who gets the overall highest votes will be declared “People’s Choice Barkada” and will also win the grand prize of an all expenses paid trip to Boracay.
  4. The Top 5 Barkadas will undergo verification and validation process via phone call, registered mail and/or email prior the formal and official announcement.
  5. A Barkada may only win once. If a Barkada appears on the Top 5 list more than once, the next Barkada will be considered.
  6. If an individual is part of any of the Top 5 Barkadas and other Barkada awards, s/he can no longer qualify for the electronic raffle, although an individual may be in different Barkadas.
  7. 3 online and 3 mobile voters get a chance to win a digital camera from the electronic raffle at the end of the promo.
  8. The electronic raffle draw will be held on or before January 30, 2008 at the Proximity office and will be supervised by representatives of Pepsi, BBDO Proximity and BFAD.

Rules: Participants may only win once. If a participant is part of any of the Top 5 Barkadas, s/he can no longer qualify for the electronic raffle. Only registered and validated voters are qualified to join the raffle, both for online and mobile.

Rules and Regulations

Pepsi holds all rights to reproduce images for any publicity or marketing material without compensation.

Minors must sign a waiver giving Pepsi the right to have their pictures taken and published without compensation.

All participants must sign a waiver stating that Pepsi will not award any monetary amount as prizes.

Online:

  1. All photos will be uploaded on www.pepsiworld.com.ph every Wednesday after pictures have been screened and approved.
  2. If pictures are taken during the weekday, uploading will be on the following Wednesday.
  3. Pictures submitted online will be uploaded on the website after 72 hours for screening and approval by Pepsictures submitted online will be uploaded on the website after 72 hours for screening and approval by Pepsi..
  4. By submitting an entry, participants agree that their entry abides by the mandates of the contest. Pepsi may disqualify any participant if their entry fails to follow the guidelines and restrictions mentioned.
  5. The barkada will be notified via email when their photos have been successfully uploaded.

Booth:

  1. Booth participants will receive a printout of their pictures.
  2. Barkada members must choose 1 group and 1 individual shot to be uploaded on the site and entered in the contest.
  3. Chosen pictures may not be changed.
  4. Photos will undergo screening and approval by Pepsi.
  5. Pepsi has the right not to upload the images that do not comply with the requirements of the contest.

Verification and Claiming the Prize

  1. Potential Barkada winners will be contacted via phone call, registered mail and/or e-mail at least 2 weeks before the promo ends for initial verification of the identities of the participants.

    • All members of the Barkada should be reachable through phone, registered mail and/or email to complete the verification process.
    • Upon verification with BFAD supervision, valid winners will be notified via phone call, registered mail or e-mail on how/where to claim his/her prize.
    • Valid Barkada winners must respond by submitting the necessary documents and other steps specified in the registered mail or e-mail to fulfill and complete the verification process to make them official.
    • Official Barkada winners will be announced on the website and other promotional efforts.
    • The winning People’s Choice Barkada should go to the BBDO Guerrero Proximity office to claim their prize. They should call the Proximity hotline 813-1315 and look for Vim Pelagio to confirm their schedule of appearance. Only the People’s Choice Barkada will have a personal appearance to avail of their prize.
    • If the People’s Choice Barkada is provincial, there is no need to have a personal appearance. Hence, the Barkada will instead send the necessary documents via fax within the specified date.
    • The winning Barkada who makes a claim but fails to avail of the prize within the six (6) month travel period is deemed to have forfeited the prize.
  2. Raffle entries from the mobile and online voters will be drawn via electronic raffle. Mobile vote-entries will be drawn using Wolfpac’s e-Tambiolo while online vote-entries will be drawn using Proximity’s electronic randomizer.

    • The 6 potential winning voters will be contacted initially though a phone call to confirm the identity of the voters with the supervision of a BFAD representative.

      • Mobile voter: If the person is not contacted through the phone after 3 attempts, s/he will be called again within 24 hours from the last contact. If no response after 24 hours and 3 attempts, s/he will be disqualified and the next person will be contacted.
      • Online voter: If the person is not contacted through the phone after 3 attempts, s/he will be sent email verification and should reply within 2 days. If no response after 2 days, s/he will be disqualified and the next person will be contacted.
    • After full verification, the official notification letter via registered mail will be sent to the valid winners on how/where to claim his/her prize.
    • Official winners should confirm the receipt of the registered mail to schedule the immediate delivery of the prize.
    • Metro Manila winners should confirm the receipt of the registered mail to schedule the date of claiming their prize. Prizes may be claimed at:

    • Provincial winners should confirm the receipt of the registered mail to schedule the delivery of their prize. Prizes will be delivered through a door-to-door messenger.
  3. In claiming (receiving) the prize, all of the participating Barkada members of the valid winning Barkada should present the following:

    • At least two valid IDs with picture (SSS ID, Company or School ID, Credit Card with Picture, Driver’s License, Passport and Senior Citizen’s ID)
    • Official notification letters from Pepsi
    • Photo cards given on the actual booth (optional)
  4. Pepsi can also request for additional documents like certified true copy of birth certificate and affidavits to confirm the identity of the winner.
  5. Winners may redeem their prize within 60 days after the receipt of the notification letter.
  6. Prize/s unclaimed after sixty (60) days from receipt of registered mail notification from Pepsi shall be forfeited in favor of Pepsi subject to the approval of the BFAD.
  7. Names of the winners should be published in the website, newspapers and/or other forms of media. Winners may be asked to come up with a testimonial and agree that their names, photos, and/or testimonials may be used in posters, commercials and other forms of multimedia.
  8. In case, a winner is unable to personally claim (receive) the prize, the proxy may present the notification letter, a letter of authorization with the winner’s signature, 2 valid IDs mentioned above and 2 valid IDs of the proxy.
  9. The decision of Pepsi in consultation with BFAD shall be final.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Contest is open to all Philippine residents of all ages. Minors who are 18 years old and below can join as long as they present and fill up the parental consent and waiver form. Employees of PepsiCo, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines (PCPPI), Pepsi-Cola Far East Trade (PCFET) ("Pepsi"), BBDO Guerrero, Proximity Philippines ("Agency"), MindShare, Smart Communications, Wolfpac Mobile, Philippine Seven Corporation, Timezone Philippines, its content provider, their affiliates, subsidiaries, successors or assigns and their immediate families (i.e., their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity) and/or members of their households (i.e., those sharing their home addresses) may join but CANNOT WIN in the promo. In case a member of the promo team wins through voting, they can only be part of the limited edition Pepsi can but are disqualified from winning "The People’s Choice Barkada" and winning prizes for voters. The competition begins on September 26, 2008, and ends on January 20, 2009. Voting begins on October 1, 2008 and ends on January 20, 2009. All images and votes submitted after the allotted competition period will not be considered. By entering the contest, each contestant agrees and acknowledges that Pepsi is permitted to receive his/her registration data. All personal information will be used by Pepsi in accordance with its privacy policy.
  2. Pepsi and its advertising agency will monitor the general activity on the website. Pepsi and its advertising agency reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove the following:

    • Entries containing any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, pornographic or profane content.
    • Entries which infringe upon the copyright, trademark, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or which violate any person's rights of privacy or publicity.

    Example:

    • Trademarks owned by third parties
    • Entries that promote any product or service other than that of Pepsi
  3. By joining the contest, the participant gives Pepsi the exclusive rights to the materials submitted, including, but not limited to, the right to reproduce, exhibit or publish the images and/or for promotional purposes, displaying the prints and videos in a public venue, the internet or publish the prints or otherwise use the submitted materials for the purpose of promoting the competition or any by-product event arising from the competition. These rights are understood to be without any financial compensation for the photographers, videographers or any of the models appearing on the materials.
  4. Each contestant agrees to fully indemnify Pepsi of all royalties, fees and any other monies owing to any person by reason of the contestant breaching any of the foregoing.
  5. Pepsi assumes no responsibility for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information, whether caused by the website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest. Pepsi assumes no responsibility for technical, hardware or software failure of any kind, for lost network connections, garbled computer transmissions, other problems or technical malfunctions with regard to the contest. If for any reason, programs are not capable of running as planned, including infection caused by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures and any other causes beyond the control of Pepsi which corrupt or affect administration, security, fairness, integrity, or discretion, Pepsi reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest. Pepsi assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, corruption, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alteration of entries. Pepsi is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, computer equipment, software, failure of any echo-mail addressed to Pepsi on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to the contestant’s or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the contest. If for any reason a contestant’s entry cannot be viewed or is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or technical failures, Pepsi assumes no responsibility.
  6. In no event will Pepsi, its parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and related companies, its advertising or promotion agencies or its officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives or agents be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising out of any contestant’s access to and use of the website. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, everything on the website is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for purpose or use or non-infringement.
  7. By entering, each contestant releases and cannot hold Pepsi, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability or injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in the contest or acceptance or use of any prize to the greatest extent as permitted by law.
  8. All participants who join are expected to and presumed to have read the promo mechanics, understood and agree to abide by its complete rules and regulations that can be seen online at www.pepsiworld.com.ph/pepsikadacan.
  9. Pepsi shall have the exclusive right to acquire the intellectual property rights over the entries that win the awards. The transfer shall include, but not be limited to the copyright, trademarks, designs used in the entry. Submitter agrees that the consideration for the transfer of intellectual property rights shall consist solely of the prizes won in this promotion, and shall execute the corresponding document transferring his rights when he claims his prize.
  10. There are five (5) barkada winners and six (6) winning voters. Each barkada has 6 members. The six (6) winning voters (3 online and 3 mobile) will be chosen through an electronic raffle draw, subject to verification of Pepsi’s advertising agency with the supervision of BFAD.
  11. The five (5) barkada entries with the highest number of online and mobile votes will be have their pictures printed on the limited edition Pepsi can.
  12. One (1) barkada with the highest overall votes will be declared “The People’s Choice” and will win the grand prize of an all expense paid trip for the whole barkada.
  13. A barkada may have a minimum number of three (3) and a maximum of six (6) members.
  14. Pepsi reserves the right to acquire the intellectual property rights over all other non-winning entries, and will retain this right beginning September 26, 2008.
  15. All photos will become the exclusive property of Pepsi and Pepsi shall have the right to edit, adapt and publish any or all of the photos, and may use them in any media whatsoever, including but not limited to the Internet, without attribution or compensation to the participant, barkada, either of their successors or assigns, or any other entity.
  16. In the event that Pepsi requests for a separate photo shoot, the winning Top 5 Barkadas should agree to do and appear on the shoot with no monetary payment. Otherwise, they will be disqualified from the contest and the next barkada will be awarded their slot. Logistics of the shoot will be shouldered by Pepsi.

    • If one of the Top 5 Barkadas is provincial, Pepsi will shoulder the logistics of the shoot and may go to the area of the barkada.
  17. Pepsi shall have the final decision in the outcome of the design of the Limited Edition Pepsi can.
  18. Pepsi does not have any obligation to monitor the contents of the comments. However, Pepsi shall reserve the right to screen and approve the comments and delete any offensive, derogatory or disagreeable comments.
  19. Pepsi disclaims any liability for the failure to receive or acknowledge entries arising from force majeure, including acts of God, fires, floods, wars and other disturbances, labor unrest, or other causes beyond its control.
